Tough call

Tough call

Today we got a call from the facility's education department. They requested some background on our daughter and told us that she was enrolled in school each day within the facility. They said that they would compile all of her school work and send it with us upon her discharge.

We were wondering why we didn't receive a call from our daughter yet and were looking forward to hearing from her. The hours passed and still no phone call. Around 5:00 pm we headed to church for dinner. During dinner, my wife received a call from our daughter. She began to tell my wife how horrible the facility was and said she wanted to come home. She said that the other girls there were horrible and made fun of her. She said she had a horrible roommate and really wanted us to come get her. When we told her that we were told she would be there for 30 days, she started to cry. She asked us how we could just leave her there. We explained to her that we didn't put her there, her choices put her there. She begged us to get her out and said she was stupid for what she did and was sorry. We told her that the pending DCF investigation was also a obstacle for us. She asked why DCF was investigating us and we told her it was due to her allegations that we abused her.

It broke our hearts to hear her cry and beg us to come get her. We love her more than she knows and we do want her home, but we know she will be safe. We will have a family session tomorrow by video and will get more information and see how she is doing.

Lord, please keep our daughter safe. Help her to know that we aren't abandoning her, and that we love her. Help her understand that actions have consequences. Lord, let this difficult time in her life be a turning point for her. Lord, you know our hearts ache for our child, please do a mighty work for our family. In Jesus name, Amen.
