Lots of steps...new hurdles

Lots of steps...new hurdles

We started the day with emails to some attorneys to get assistance with obtaining an IEP and get some guidance on seeking Extended Guardianship. My wife began digging into potential facilities for our daughter, checking reviews and treatment specialties. We also reached out to the state where we adopted our children to see if they were able to assist in any way. My wife seemed to hit a dead end on her phone calls.

Throughout the day, we received some calls from the facilities that had been contacted by my daughters social worker. This one particular facility advised me that my daughter would need to be vaccinated against Covid and have all of the boosters before she was accepted. This was a definite NO for our family. We are strongly against the Covid vaccination. This was a new hurdle that we hadn't even considered before today. We now have several hurdles to overcome, cost, location, treatment of her specific condition and now whether or not they require vaccination. The one facility we were most hopeful for today advised me that they charge $30k per month, but could provide us with a discount that would get the price down to $22k.

We received some emails back from attorneys, some hopeful, some not. We will need to do some additional follow up tomorrow. It seems like we have so many details that need to come together all at once to make this work. We will do whatever it takes to get our daughter the help she needs. The fact that this seems so impossible for us, means that we must rely more on God. It is in our weakness that He moves mountains and this certainly feels like a mountain to us.

Lord, we will continue to do all we can to help our daughter, but we need your help. We are mentally exhausted Lord, we need your strength to get us through this. It seems impossible right now Lord, but we know that you are working things out behind the scenes. Lord, may your will be done. In Jesus name, Amen.
