Nearing discharge

I just realized it has been two months since my last post. During that time, our entire family has been seeking counseling. Our daughter has been making great progress while in the the treatment facility and we have been seeking out counseling locally.
Over the past 4 months that our daughter has been in therapy, we have all grown. We have participated in weekly family sessions where each of us actively engaged, stepping out of our comfort zones. We have learned to better communicate with one another and learned to express our feelings in a healthy way. We have all worked on our areas of weakness and will continue to do so. We are very proud of our daughter for the progress she has made. She is able to genuinely reflect on her past behavior and is remorseful.
One of the things my wife did to further help our daughter, was seek gene testing. She discovered GeneSight The GeneSight test results can inform healthcare providers about how someone may break down or respond to certain mental health medications to help avoid multiple medication trials. We wanted our daughter to have the best possible chance of success in her treatment. We sent the test to the facility, where they performed it and sent it to the lab.
A few weeks later, my wife received a video call from the company. During that time the person on the video call went over the entire test. It turns out that the medications our daughter is currently taking are a good fit for her genetically. We were happy that she wouldn't need to make any drastic changes to her treatment and disrupt her progress.
We are anticipating our daughter being home with us by Thanksgiving, although we do not yet have a definitive date. We are thankful for all the prayers and support we have received this year during this difficult time. Mental health disorders are not something to be ashamed of or hidden away. We all need the support of others and prayer to help us on our journey. If we can be of any help, please feel free to contact us at dennis@protonmail.com
